Itinerary as it stands:
Aug. 1st: Leaving with the train to Toronto around noon.Aug. 2nd 0:01am: Leaving Toronto with the train to Edmonton.
Aug. 4th 7am: Arriving in Edmonton and picking up a rental car.
Aug. 4th: En route to Vancouver through Jasper (and its national park), quick stop at Mt Robson Provincial Park to visit its visitor center to figure out if we go there on the way back, stay overnight in Clearwater Provincial Park (Highway 5).
Aug. 5 to 8th: Meet Barbara Aug. 5 around noon in Vancouver (our hotel is in Surrey (Surrey Central Inn) and Vancouver sight-seeing (its various gardens and parks mostly). Meet Hansi, Uta, Anna and Tobi Aug. 8th first thing in the morning. Driving to Bamford or Port Alberni in the afternoon or evening.
Aug. 9: Registering Margaret at the WCT first thing in the morning. Waiting for Hansi/Uta.
Aug. 10 to 18th: WCT, give or take a day
Aug. 19th to 20th: Vancouver (and maybe 1 day in Victoria). Barbara flies back on the 20th. Uta and Hansi are flying back on the 21st.
Aug. 21th: Driving to Golden with Anna Margaret and Tobi.
Aug. 22nd: Special event for Anna. Staying overnight at Takakkaw Falls campground.
Aug. 23rd to 27th: Yoho National Park (likely Iceline Whaleback trail, if possible Lake O'Hara area). Alternative is Rockwall trail in Kootenay National Park if Lake O'Hara is fully booked or maybe Mt. Robson Berg Lake.
Aug 28th: Northern Banff (Mosquito Creek campground): Helen Lake and Cirque Peak trail.
Aug 29th to Sept 1st: Southern Jasper (Wilcox creek campground): Wilcox Pass, Parker Ridge and maybe Nigel Pass.
Sept. 2nd: Drive to Edmonton. Returning the rental car. Dinner at the Creperie. Boarding the train to Ottawa at midnight.
Sept. 3rd to 5th: Train ride to Toronto and then to Ottawa. Arriving in Toronto on the 5th around noon. Back in Ottawa/Fallowfield in the early evening.
Sept. 7th: Driving Margaret to London Ont. with Anna and Tobi. Staying overnight at Long Point Provincial campground.
Sept. 8th: Driving Anna and Tobi to Toronto Airport in the morning then back to Ottawa.
