Aug. 30th and 31st, Miette Hot Spring and Lazy in Jasper
Yesterday turned out to be our last real tour. The weather turned bad and swimming (or better standing in the hot pool) at the Miette Hot Springs drained our last energies! While the hot pools were decent sized, even more people came swimming and it pretty much boiled down to a standing in the pool affair. Unless one was brave enough to swim in the (ice) cold water pools! We had a nice dinner at the Jasper Bearhill Brewing pub. For a change our two picky kids very much liked the fries, chickens and sandwiches on offer. No weirdo restaurant pick by the uncle, just pub fair was on the wanted list!
The next day rain was in the air and everyone was really lazy. So all we did was watching some Wapitis venturing through the campground, having a pizza for late lunch at the Famoso Pizzeria with happy "picky" kids again. We also had a final marshmallow fire. This evening after looking at the weather forecast we decided to drive the next day to Edmonton and spent the night there instead of doing another day tour in potentially rainy/cold weather. Instead finishing up with a bang we were looking for more pampered, civilized ventures and to get out of the tent.
